Studies on the effect of radiation on rice grains

Studies on the effect of radiation on rice grains

Bulletin of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kagoshima University Kagoshima Daigaku Nogakubu Gakujutsu Hokoku (29): 1-10

The percentage germination of seeds of six cultivars irradiated using a 60Co source was independent of the dose up to 50 krad, but the percentage emergence of such seeds in the field was dependent both on the dose and the cultivar used, Koshihikari being the least prone to radiation damage at high doses.
