Vines, Tocai Friulano on Kober 5BB, trained by the Sylvoz system, were treated with 500-2000 p.p.m. rates of Alar or 2000-4000 p.p.m. rates of CCC on one or more dates in mid May and/or June. Data on effects on shoot length, and on internode numbers and lengths are reported. CCC was the more effective of the two chemicals in reducing growth in length, and a single 3000 or 4000 p.p.m. treatment before flowering was best.
