In studies with 6-month-old coffee, Cu at 0.02-200 p.p.m. was added to the nutrient solution, or at 0.2-200 p.p.m. to pot-grown plants receiving or not receiving Ca to raise soil pH to 6.5 and/or FYM at a rate equivalent to 10 t/ha. The plants were sampled 18 months after the start of the experiment. The threshold level for Cu toxicity was found to be about 30 p.p.m. in the leaves. The Mundo Novo was more susceptible than Catuai.
