Studies on the ovarian activity of the dromedary (Camelus dromedarius)

Postovulatory corpora haemorrhagica and mature corpora lutea were seen in the ovaries of non-pregnant dromedaries only during spring. Regressed corpora lutea were seen throughout the year, along with many follicles of different sizes. Two or three corpora lutea in different stages of regression could be found in the same ovary. There were very few developing follicles, most being atretic. A large number of Graafian follicles was found throughout the year, some of which were atretic.
