Studies on the pools of assimilates in strawberry leaves; determination of the specific radioactivity of released carbon dioxide

Specific radioactivity of released CO2 from a strawberry leaf was determined by a specially designed apparatus (capable of simultaneous determination of the CO2 content in the air, photosynthetic intensity and the rates of respiration and translocation of radioactive assimilates from the leaf). Data are graphically presented on the time course of the outflow of labelled assimilate and the specific radioactivity of released CO2 from leaves fed for 5 min or 4 h with 14CO2.
