Simultaneous fungicide treatment and Rhizobium inoculation of soybean seeds were investigated. In laboratory tests, Quinolate V-4-X, BAS 3302 F and Dithane M-45 fungicides applied at a concentration of 1.0 and 0.1% inhibited the growth of rhizobia. Fundazol 50 WP did not inhibit the bacteria in vitro, and increased the nodulation and the yield in pot tests. Quinolate V-4-X strongly inhibited both in vitro growth of Rhizobium japonicum strains and nodulation.
