In field trials in 1972-4 in the Casamance region the following rotations were grown: (a) groundnut/millet, (b) fallow/millet/groundnut/rice + fertilizers, (c) as (b) but millet replaced by maize, or (d) continuous maize + mineral and organic fertilizers.
