Yearling Indian Zebu, Jamaica Red and Jamaica Black bulls got for 140 days a diet in which sugar cane with rind removed provided 80% and a supplement of protein, minerals and vitamins 20% of DM. Urea was 40% of the crude protein. For the other 3 of the 4 groups of 10 cattle, test diets had 20% cane tops, poor hay of pangola grass or citrus pulp replacing an equal weight of sugar cane.
