The anthelmintic action of benzimidazole carbamates on Trichinella spiralis. I. Mebendazole

The anthelmintic action of benzimidazole carbamates on Trichinella spiralis. I. Mebendazole

Revista Iberica de Parasitologia 38(1/2): 249-258

Tests on mice showed that mebendazole was effective against pre-adult forms of Trichinella spiralis at doses as low as 5 mg/kg body-weight. Significant efficacy against adult forms required doses of at least 40 mg/kg, while migrating larvae were greatly reduced by doses of 30 to 60 mg/kg.
