N fertilizer applied to meadow indirectly increased the CF content of herbage by increasing the proportion of grasses. Under a 3-cut system 80% of the harvested grass contained too much CF. Resowing with hybrid ryegrass and cutting 5 times gave the opt. CF content. N fertilization and intensive cutting management increased the content of DCP and starch equivalent.
