The inheritance of plant height, and grain yield and its components in winter X spring wheat hybrids

After Mironovka 808 had been crossed with five spring varieties, height and five yield components were investigated in the F3. The highest heritability coefficients found were for plant height (H = 0.554 to 0.967), followed by number of spikelets in the ear (H = 0.368 to 0.707). The heritability of other characters was either low or very variable from one hybrid combination to another. Mironovka 808 X Penjamo 62 showed H = 0.852 for grain weight per ear.
