The study of Chinese drugs of the Umbelliferae. I. The chemical constituents of Angelica apaensis Shan et Yuan., Heracleum rapula Fr., and Heracleum scabridum Fr. roots

Acta Botanica Sinica 20(3): 244-254

The ether extract of A. apaensis roots yielded 6 furocoumarins (oxypeucedanin, isoimperatorin, oxypeucedanin hydrate, byakangelicol, byakangelicin and an unidentified compound). The extract also yielded beta -sitosterol, gamma -sitosterol, lignoceric acid, essential oil (0.24%) and 2 unidentified substances. Similar extracts of H. rapula roots yielded 5 coumarins (osthol, imperatorin, isopimpinellin, (+) marmesin and heraclenol) and essential oil (0.36%).
