Experiments were made on the manufacture of three-layer boards in which the middle layer consisted of bark particles (beech, oak, spruce or poplar) and the outer layers consisted of beech-wood particles. The ratio of thickness of outer layers to middle layer was 1:2; the boards were formed by pressing for 10 min at 160 deg C at a pressure of 1.8 MN/m2. Data are tabulated on the m.c., swelling, water absorption, bending strength, and delamination strength of the boards.
