Metribuzin at 0.7 kg/ha was applied before transplanting or 1, 5, 10, 15 or 20 days after transplanting the tomato Rutgers. The highest yields were obtained from plots treated 10 days after transplanting (23.44 tons/ha). Treatment before transplanting reduced the yield to 15.61 tons/ha.
