Abstract
The effectiveness of triclopyr alone or mixed with picloram and applied to cut surfaces of trees was evaluated in a series of tests. When applied by injection, GARLON 3A Herbicide (amine formulation of triclopyr) mixed 50% with water was about as effective as undiluted TORDON' 101R Herbicide on a wide variety of species. Black walnut (a hard-to-kill species) was effectively controlled by GARLON 3A mixed 1:1 with TORDON 22K. Both ester and amine formulations of triclopyr, brushed on cut stumps of cottonwood and walnut, worked well.
