Yield response of flue-cured tobacco varieties under varying populations and nitrogen levels

Of five varieties grown at high or low densities under three levels of nitrogen at three sites for three years, HR70-57 gave the highest yields of cured leaf. Kanakaprabha and CTRI gave highest yields of bright leaf. Values for all yield components except bright leaf were higher at the high than at the low (normal) density.
