'Lok-1' wheat for Central India

Indian Farming 29(11): 19-20

Lok1 is a pure-line bread wheat developed by the pedigree method from a cross between S308 and S331. It is a two-gene dwarf and takes about 50 days to flower. It has outyielded Kalyan Sona and can be successfully grown where limited irrigation facilities are available. It has a higher harvest index and lower rust incidence than Kalyan Sona.
