The paper discusses appropriate technology for improving the agricultural mechanization in the developing countries, including relationships with other factors to increase food production, income and the quality of life. A technology is defined as appropriate when it closely meets the specific existing needs of the intended user, can be readily acquired, and effectively and profitably used to increase the quantity and/or quality of production.
