10. Cooperative policy and village development in Northern Nigeria

10. Cooperative policy and village development in Northern Nigeria

Rural development in tropical Africa: 259-280

The six villages included in the study varied widely in prosperity, local politics and economic opportunities, even when they were close neighbours. Government co-operative policy was, on the other hand, identical in each case. The paper examines the interaction between the villages and government policy and notes the gaps between stated objectives and real achievements.
