Mango 13-1 was selected as a polyembryonic (3-6 embryos) rootstock for calcareous soils and/or irrigation with saline water. Maya trees on 13-1 rootstocks showed excellent performance on soil containing 20% lime, and 3 cvs on 13-1 rootstock showed good development on sandy soil with 10-20% lime and irrigation water containing 250 p.p.m. Cl.
