14. Agricultural planning and implementation in the B'sor region

14. Agricultural planning and implementation in the B'sor region

Arid zone settlement planning The Israeli experience: 317-353

The B'sor Region is situated, to the north and east, on the fringes of the maritime plain to the west of the semiarid southern part of Israel, and of the Negev Desert in the south. It is, therefore, essentially a transition area from a typical Mediterranean semi arid climate to an arid climate. After describing the physical characteristics, the paper presents its geopolitical importance, and outlines Jewish settlement there and the early period of the state of Israel.
