2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid causes behavioral effects in chickens at environmentally relevant doses

2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid causes behavioral effects in chickens at environmentally relevant doses

Science 211(4482): 593-595

Administration of the herbicide 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid to incubating chicken eggs alters behaviour after hatching. Single doses, with no morphological effects, retard learning (lowest dose, 7 milligrams per kilogram of body weight) and increase general activity (27 milligrams per kilogram) and jumping (13 milligrams per kilogram).
