20Morphology genesis and classification of ferruginous soils. 1. Geology, geomorphology and soils of Goa

20Morphology genesis and classification of ferruginous soils. 1. Geology, geomorphology and soils of Goa

Mysore Journal of Agricultural Sciences 14(3): 305-318

Seven pedons of Goa representing the major soil series of the area were studied. The profile morphology reflected a progressive evolution in soil development. The Colva series consisted of Entisols showing least horizon development. The Colangute and Darbandora series were Inceptisols with a cambic horizon. The Ugem and Volpoi series were Alfisols with an argillic horizon. The Netorlim series represented highly weathered ultisols.
