3-dimensional analysis of air velocity and hay pressure in beds of grain and hay

3-dimensional analysis of air velocity and hay pressure in beds of grain and hay

Journal of Agricultural Engineering Research 27(2): 101-117

The finite element method using the frontal solution technique was used to calculate the airflow and pressure distribution in hay and grain beds where these parameters vary significantly in 3 dimensions. This was a larger problem than the 2-dimensional method previously studied and required a more efficient solution technique. The accuracy of the 3-dimensional method was estimated using a simple 1-dimensional test case.
