6. Pastoralism: some alternative futures

Making the most of the least Alternative ways to development: 77-93

Although there is an incomplete correlation between pastoralism and least development, many LDNs have high percentages of their population engaged in pastoral nomadic activities. An important component of the development problem of the least developed is thus related to the future of pastoral nomads. They occupy large areas of land and represent significant strong minorities in the national resource base.
