A bacterial leaf spot caused in yam bean by Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola

A bacterial leaf spot caused in yam bean by Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola

Phytopathology 71(12): 1289-1293

A bacterium causing leaf spot of Pachyrrhizus erosus in Hawaii was identified on the basis of in vitro biochemical properties; symptoms induced in P. erosus, the bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) Red Kidney and detached bean pods; remission of toxin-induced systemic symptoms at high temps. and behaviour in a microbial assay for antimetabolic toxins. It is distinct from P. syringae pv. syringae and pv. tabaci in each of these aspects.
