A biogeographical analysis of the lichen flora of Mt. Qomolangma region in Xizang

A biogeographical analysis of the lichen flora of Mt. Qomolangma region in Xizang

Proceedings of Symposium on Qinghai Xizang Tibet Plateau, May 25 June 1, 1980, Beijing, China: 140-141

The lichens of Mt. Qomolangma (Mt. Everest) are classifed into 9 geographical categories: arcto-alpine, montane-subarctic, boreal, montane, noto-boreal nemoral, arid, pantropical, and multi-range. 72% of the lichens fall into the montane temperate zone of the Holarctic, with 4% belonging to the notoboreal, 8% to the pantropical and 16% to the arcto-alpine. Among these, about 18% are endemic.
