A combine cob saver

A combine cob saver

Transactions of the ASAE American Society of Agricultural Engineers 25(3): 544-548

Modifications to a commercial straw chopper are described which produced a cob saver attachment for mounting at the rear of a combine harvester. Its purpose was to separate maize husks from the cobs which were then elevated into a trailing forage wagon. Separation of the material was improved by the addition of a fan and air deflector.
