A combined method of wood impregnation treatment

A combined method of wood impregnation treatment

Derevoobrabatyvayushchaya Promyshlennost' (8): 12-14

A method was developed for combined treatment against (a) fire, (b) biological attack and (c) water. The best treatment against (a) and (b) in trials was with 15% (aqueous) ammonium tetrafluoroborate by the hot-and-cold bath method at 93 plus or minus 2 deg /23 plus or minus 2 deg C (each for 1 h). Effective protection against (c) was achieved by subsequent drying in petrolatum at 120 deg C for 40 min.
