A comparative study of local and introduced cocksfoot cultivars in mixture with lucerne under irrigated conditions

In irrigated trials in 1974-8, lucerne Dunavka grown in mixture with cocksfoot Dubrava, Morava (from Bulgaria), S 26, S 37, S 143, S 345 (UK), Fala (Poland) or Motterwitzer (German Democratic Republic) gave av. yields of 12.00-13.95 t DM and 2.17-2.66 t CP/ha compared with 10.5 and 2.16 t, resp., for in pure stands of lucerne; cocksfoot Dubrava/lucerne mixture gave the highest yields.
