A comparative study of rock phosphate and single superphosphate as phosphorus fertilizers for Guinea grass. I

The effects of single superphosphate and local and imported rock phosphates on the growth of Panicum maximum in pots were compared. Fertilizer application rates were 60, 120, 180 or 900 mg P2O5/kg soil; harvests were taken at 6-7 week intervals. All fertilized treatments were more productive than the unfertilized control, and yield increases were greater at higher application rates.
