A comparison of maize mtDNA from normal and male sterile cytoplasms

A comparison of maize mtDNA from normal and male sterile cytoplasms

Maize Genetics Cooperation News Letter (54): 97-99

Restriction endonuclease fragment analysis of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) from NC7 X T204 with normal and T cytoplasms revealed (1) sequence homology between a majority of the restriction fragments from normal and T mtDNA; (2) one case of a sequence present in N but not T mtDNA and (3) evidence of recombination or deletion or both in the mtDNAs.
