A new method of firmness measurement of grape berries and other juicy fruits

A new method of firmness measurement of grape berries and other juicy fruits

Vitis 20(1): 15-21

In the method described the fruit is deformed by a measured force between two parallel plates. Firmness is measured as the force needed to produce a given flat area (0.6 cm2 for large fruited grape cvs and less for small fruited cvs).
