A note on the efficacy of levamisole hydrochloride and fenbendazole against gastrointestinal nematodes of sheep

In Madras, India, 3 groups of 10 one-year-old sheep naturally infected with gastro-intestinal nematodes (mainly Haemonchus contortus, Oesophagostomum and Trichostrongylus) were treated with levamisole hydrochloride orally at 7.5 mg/kg body-weight, fenbendazole (125 mg) or thiabendazole orally at 50 mg/kg. A 4th group served as non-treated controls. Faecal egg counts were made for up to 30 days.
