It is shown from a review (including some previously unpublished findings) that the limited series of field trials carried out in Australia (especially on cotton and against the Australian plague locust (Chortoicetes terminifera (Wlk.))) has confirmed overseas findings that the small droplets in ultra-low-volume formulations of insecticides can provide more efficient insect control than the larger droplets in emulsifiable concentrate formulations when applied from aircraft.
