In vitro at 0.015 mu g/ml for 120 h, 4-isothiocyanato-4'-nitrodiphenylamine (C9333-Go/CGP 4540) was lethal to Schistosoma japonicum. In mice experimentally infected with a Philippine strain of this parasite an oral dose of 20 mg/kg given after 5 weeks produced a complete parasitological cure, while 5 mg/kg reduced fluke burdens by 98%.
