In comparisons for a year between the arthropod faunas of tea shaded by Albizia odoratissima or cultivated without shade trees at Tocklai Experimental Station in Assam, India, it was found that, although the number of species was significantly greater on unshaded (123) than on shaded tea (96), the number of individuals was greater on shaded tea; 51 species were common to both shaded and unshaded habitats.
