Changes in chlorophyll a and b concentrations in the peel of developing pineapple, cv. Red Spanish, fruit

Total chlorophyll content increased in pineapple peel from the thirteenth week after flower induction to week 15 (when fruit ripening began) and then steadily decreased, reaching very low levels in week 21. Fruits reached maturity in week 25.
