Changes in successive lactations of udder and teat structure and udder health in Polish Black-and-White Lowland and Polish Red-and-White Lowland cows

Changes in successive lactations of udder and teat structure and udder health in Polish Black-and-White Lowland and Polish Red-and-White Lowland cows

Medycyna Weterynaryjna 36(3): 158-161

The study described in the preceding abstr. was extended to cover successive lactations, from the 1st to 6th or later. Incidence of incorrect udder structure increased in Polish Black-and-White Lowland (PB) cows from 17.1% in the 1st to 29.7 in the 6th and later lactations. Incidence of incorrect teat structure increased correspondingly from 14.7 to 32.9%, with incidence of teats < 3.5 or > 9 cm long increasing from 3.4 to 5.6%.
