Guinea-pigs (total 42) were divided into 2 groups and infected with 1000 larvae of T. spiralis or T. pseudospiralis; 2 from each group were killed at 10-day intervals and samples were taken from the masseters. Both species had an effect on the electrophoretic spectrum of muscle proteins. The greatest effect of T. spiralis occurred on days 30 and 40 of infection; on day 40 globulin x had increased to 337.5% of the value before infection. Myogen A showed a maximum decrease on day 40.
