Romanov ewes (17-458 per group) were inseminated with Awassi semen as follows: (1) in the morning with semen stored at 0 deg -4 deg C for 16-18 h, and in the evening with fresh, diluted semen; (2) twice daily as above with fresh semen diluted in the "Golden Fleece" diluent, (3) once daily with semen diluted in the Golden Fleece diluent, and (4) with semen diluted in glucose-phosphate.
