During studies carried out in Serbia, Yugoslavia, between 1972 and 1975 on the fauna of Siricidae infesting coniferous trees, the species Urocerus gigas (L.), U. augur (Klug), U. fantoma (F.), Sirex juvencus L., S. noctilio F. and Xeris spectrum (L.) were found. Of these species, 5 attacked fir, 4 attacked spruce and 2 attacked pine. The species appeared at the end of May, and adult flight lasted until the first half of November at the lowest air temperature (approximately 19 deg C).
