Contribution to the study of the carbonation of apatites. I. Synthesis and physico-chemical properties of type A carbonated apatites

Contribution to the study of the carbonation of apatites. I. Synthesis and physico-chemical properties of type A carbonated apatites

Annales de Chimie 7(2): 65-87

The study of natural phosphates shows that a great number of them constitute a part of a family of compounds with a structure close to that of the fluorapatite, Ca10(PO4)6F2. This apatite crystallizes in the hexagonal system (space group P63/m). The composition of these natural phosphates is complex. The very stable apatitic lattice allows various anionic and cationic substitutions, and carbonated apatites are particularly well known.
