Control and management of rice pests. Weeds. Effect of application method and volume on herbicide performance



Annual Report for 1978: 212-214



The effects of method and rate of herbicide application on yields of dry-sown rain-fed bunded and upland rice are reported. Grain yield of IR36 was max. (2.5 t/ha) when 2 kg butachlor/ha was applied by controlled droplet application at 0.5 m/s walking speed. The effect of vol. and rate of herbicide spray applied before emergence of upland rice IR9575 at IRRI are included. Rice grain yields were max. (3.18 t/ha) when plots were hand weeded twice.
