Control of Ligula and Digramma infections by propagating coregonid fish

Investigation of fish in 4 lakes in Bashkiria, USSR, showed that the introduction of Coregonus albula ladogensis, C. peled and C. albula, which are resistant to ligulid infections, considerably reduced the prevalence of Ligula and Digramma infections in indigenous fish. C. albula ladogensis eats coracidia, procercoids and pleroceroids (in small fish); the other 2 fish eat coracidia and procercoids.
