Control of coccidiosis among fattening lambs by means of amprolium

Control of coccidiosis among fattening lambs by means of amprolium

Hygia Pecoris 2(3): 96-102

In Spain, 2400 recently weaned and sex-separated lambs of the Manchega breed were fed 0, 100, 200 or 300 ppm amprolium for 45 days. The lambs were naturally infected with Eimeria ahsata, E. ovina, E. weybridgensis, E. granulosa, E. faurei, E. intricata, E. ninakohlyakimovae and E. parva. All the medicated lambs had significantly greater weight gains than the controls, and oocyst production was much reduced.
