Control of the red oak borer by removal of infested trees

Control of the red oak borer by removal of infested trees

Journal of Forestry 79(11): 731-733

Measurements (d.b.h.; stump circumference, ht. to 4-inch diam. top o.b.; and survival) were made of 4 oak species (Quercus rubra, Q. velutina, Q. coccinea and Q. alba) in 11 plots in 45-yr-old, even-aged oak/hickory stands in Ohio in 1973-8. Populations (larvae and adults) of Enaphalodes rufulus were estimated over the same period.
