Controlling caterpillars on fresh market cabbage

Controlling caterpillars on fresh market cabbage

Ohio Report on Research and Development 66(5): 73-76

A study was carried out in Ohio in 1980 to evaluate several sampling methods to be used in conjunction with economic thresholds to determine control measures against lepidopterous larval pests of fresh market cabbage, the most serious of which are the diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella (L.)), the imported cabbageworm and the cabbage looper (Trichoplusia ni (Hb.)). Cabbages were evaluated for marketability by giving them damage ratings of 1-6.
