Corn response to sulfur applications in Coastal Plain soils

Field experiments were conducted in 1978-80 to determine if maize yields could be increased on Coastal Plain soils with application of S and if extractable soil S or tissue analysis could be employed to predict this response. Grain yelds increased with S application where less than or equal to 6 kg/ha of acid Ca(H2PO4)2. H20 extractable soil S was present in the surface horizon.
