Correlation between amino acid and protein content in grain legumes and comparison of effectiveness of their production in relation to biological value

Legumes obtained from variety screening tests were examined. The content of some amino acids and protein were significantly correlated. It was concluded that with increasing protein content, arginine, and sometimes glutamic acid increased and essential amino acids remained unchanged or decreased slightly. If an increase in grain yield is accompanied by a decrease in protein content this fall is caused mainly by a decrease in arginine.
